THE FERN GUIDE TO GARMENT CARE

Preferably all FERN items are to be dry cleaned only or hand wash separately, drip & air dry without direct sunlight exposure.

For 100% Cotton Items: 

Customers are to dry clean the first time. After, cotton can be hand washed or cold machine washed. Use a mesh bag for delicate items to prevent snagging or twisting between cycles.  

Hang cotton out to dry, as heat from tumble dryers can cause it to shrink and colour to fade. This also saves energy.  

Iron at any temperature.

For Cotton Silk Blends & 100% Silk fabrics: 

Customers are to dry clean for the first two rounds, then can be hand washed with a special/ mild detergent in lukewarm water is recommended. Rinse without wringing.   

Do not tumble dry. Lay silk garments within a rolled-up towel to absorb excess moisture. Lay flat or hang to air dry.

Steam silk as a gentler alternative to ironing.  

For 100% Linen & Ramie fabrics:

Customers are to dry clean the first time. After, linen can be hand washed or cold machine washed. Use a mesh bag for delicate items to prevent snagging or twisting between cycles.  

Always air-dry. Use the steam from a hot shower to help reduce creasing. 

Avoid using thin wire hangers or clips that can leave impressions or cause the garment to lose its shape. 

All of our products have been treated during the dying process to avoid extensive colour bleeding. Nonetheless, to ensure non colour transfer as Batik is still a hand dyeing process, we advise all our customers to wash them separately and do not soak or bleach.
